9th blogging anniversary

It's been nine years since I wrote my first blog post and in that time, I have evolved even as my blog struggled to catch up and reflect that change. I've gone through many life changes: motherhood, journey to finding myself and dealing with my mental health. Despite all that, I have been unable to let go of my piece of internet real estate. Nine years! Come to think of it, this is the longest relationship I've had, hahaha! It sounds funny just thinking about it. So, just as I did for my eighth blogging anniversary , I'll give you a little life update.  What's been happening... As I celebrate nine years since I took that bold step to put myself out there and my pursue passion for writing and sharing this with you, I can't help but wonder if I will ever get my old mojo back. I know that I can't force myself to put out content that doesn't resonate with where I am now and the things that I'm enjoying even though they might not always be fashion-relate...

A year older

Better late than never, right? I celebrated another birthday about a week ago, yay!!! The older I get the more excited I get about life and all that is in store for me. I used to dread getting older, I still do at times. But then I look at the progress I have made, as a person, a mum, a professional, and I feel so proud of myself. I have become more accepting of myself, flaws and all. And I'm not talking physical flaws. I've been looking back at my life facing the mistakes I have made head on and learning to deal with them. For a long time I was unable to do this because I was ashamed mostly. But I have come to accept that I am human and it is unfair for me to expect perfection. I will fail from time to time and it's okay. Growing up can be scary, no lie. But once you get the courage to face life head on, the good, bad and ugly, you'll find that you will enjoy every aspect of your life more. Try it. I have and I'm happier for it. Here's to another year on ...

8th Blogging Anniversary + Changes

Hi there. It's been a while. I've been meaning to update you and even started several blog posts but none of them seemed good enough. I know, #overthinking, but here we are. I thought a life update would be the perfect way to get back to blogging. Last week I marked my 8th blogging anniversary. I must confess that the date almost passed me by. Eight years seems like a long time, right? I can hardly believe it. But I'm so proud of myself for at least keeping this space alive, albeit partially. I was reading a post about habits that will improve your life and having a creative outlet was one of them. This blog has been my creative space since its inception. As time went by it became the space where I documented the various stages of my life key in point becoming a mother, starting my online shop and eventually transitioning to full-time employment. However, as I embraced these new phases of my life, I also lost love and found it again (that's a story for another d...

Hello 2017

Happy new year to you all! And welcome back! I hope you have had a restful holiday. So where have I been? As you might have noticed, I haven't been blogging or as active on social media because I haven't been well. I don't want to make this post a pity party so I won't dwell on that too much. But it has been a bit of a challenge for me to work for the last month and a half. Nevertheless, I am getting better and for that I thank God.   My plans for 2017 2017 is my year to work. I intend to do nothing but work, work, work. I want to grow professionally. I spent 2016 growing emotionally, psychologically and spiritually. This year I want to use my newfound strength to improve my standing careerwise and of course financially. I know many people say that money is not the source of happiness but without money you will not be happy. I'm not saying that I am unhappy. On the contrary. I am very happy with the way my life is progressing. But I would like to grow fina...

Goodbye 2016

Happy holidays lovelies. I hope you have had a good and peaceful rest and are getting ready and excited for the new year. A new year signifies lots of possibilities, a clean slate with which you get to work towards achieving your life goals. But before I sit down to work on my plans for 2017, I thought it wise to reflect on the past 365 days. 2016 has been one year where I have felt like my resolve is being tested. I have had to rethink many of my decisions, pondering whether or not I made the right choices. I will admit there were days, many days, when I really doubted myself. However, as I'm typing out this post, I remind myself that for every decision that I made, I had a whole list of pros and cons and I never made any decision without praying about it first. The Christmas season has reminded me that God doesn't make promises He doesn't keep. Every desire He has placed in my heart and in your heart He will make it a reality. You just need to have a little more fait...

2016 Goals: Starting YouTube

Hi guys. I am so excited to be able to share this with you! After a long, long, long long time of considering the pros and cons of starting something new, getting familiar in front of the camera and doing more and more research on what I would like to share with you, I have finally started my YouTube Channel. To say that I am ecstatic about taking this step is an understatement. I can't believe I actually did it. It has taken me ages to wrap my head around the fact that yes, YouTube is a possibility. You have heard me mention more than once how I had been struggling with getting out of a creative rut for the longest time. I think I needed to try something different because now I get so excited when I am planning out new videos for my channel. I can't wait to see how it evolves. You can watch my first video below and be sure to subscribe. Bear in mind that this is my very first attempt so be gentle with the comments, lol. It is still a work in progress. I am still learning ...

It's My Birthday!

Happy birthday to me! Getting a year older has me so excited this time round. Don't get me wrong I am always excited when September rolls by knowing that I celebrate so many milestones this month: Elly's half birthday, my birthday and my blog anniversary. But this year, the excitement has gone up a notch. I can't quite explain why but I don't mind. I am so grateful, first and foremost, to God for getting me through the past year and for allowing me to see a new day. I am also so grateful for the lessons I have learnt in the past year, for the goals which I set which I have achieved and which I am on the way to achieving. I want to say thank you to my family and friends for being there with me through thick and thin. To my daughter, for giving me a reason to smile each and every day. Thank you to you who takes the time to read this blog. I know my consistency has not been good. I apologize for that and will work to improve. To all my clients who have had faith in me...

Happy Holidays

Hello everyone, I hope you are doing well. I know I have been MIA and I'm sorry. Work has been crazy, but I know that is no excuse. New Year's resolution is to go back to frequent blogging. I digress. I'm just popping in to wish you a very Merry Christmas. I hope you have a good one. *There will be one last post of 2015 next Tuesday so be sure to drop by. Happy holidays.

Botique i2s New Collection

Hello everyone! I am so excited to finally be able to share this project with you. Over the last couple of months, I have been hard at work on a new phase of the blog and my online shop Botique i2s . I present to you my first collection created by yours truly. New Mantra After constantly being bombarded by very nice designs that make my mouth water, I finally took the bold step of making said clothes available. Botique i2s seeks to give new life to vintage and previously owned clothes by updating them into the latest trends in a process referred to as upcycling. I believe this is Kenya's first store whose clothes are made entirely out of upcycled clothes (correct me if I am wrong). Recycling is very important particularly in this day and age when our streets are filling up with trash and the garbage dumps are reaching their tipping point. Botique i2s wants to join in the recycling movement in an effort to preserve our environment. And what better way to do it t...
