Hi all!
As you might have noticed, I love bold colours. I get so
tired of the usual blacks and navys and browns. So when cobalt became THE
colour to wear, I just had to have it. I got a leather skirt in cobalt, a dress
in cobalt, I even have a trouser suit which is yet to make its debut on this
blog. What can I say, I am enthralled by this shade of blue.
This is the third time I’m wearing this dress, although this
is the second time it’s appearing on the blog. I wore it two weeks ago for a
job interview. I had wanted to wear a black dress but after many false starts,
I opted for this bold colour, to make me feel a little more confident.
Because the dress is a little on the short side (and I
wasn’t sure about the dress code of the organization) and it was a somewhat
chilly morning, I wore stockings and carried a coat that I ended up not
needing. Going with my bold theme, I wore this statement necklace gifted to me
by my brother and topped it all off with a navy belt (to hold the dress in
place, it’s a size too big), wedges and a black handbag.
Outfit Details:
Dress: Gikomba Market, Nairobi
Wedges: Hawkers at Khoja, Nairobi
Handbag, Necklace and Earrings: Gift
The cobalt dress and statement necklace were bold enough for
me. So I kept my make-up understated with neutral eye-shadow, eyeliner and
gloss. I tied my braids to the side for a little relaxed aura.
Do you at times dress up with the intention of bringing out your hidden self? Let me know in the comments below.
