DRESSED IN DUSTY PINK AND BOYFRIEND BLAZER

Hi everyone. I do hope you had a fantastic weekend. As it's nearing the end of the month of July, where did the days fly off to, I'd like to give a shout out to all my new followers and to say a special word of thanks to all of you for your continued support. I love blogging and it's so encouraging knowing that there is someone out there who reads my posts. So thank you!!!

Meeting old friends can be a daunting task. I recently experienced this when I had a lunch date and catching-up session with my very good friend Bridget. We hadn’t talked in about 10 months and we finally managed to match up our schedules.

Friday’s are usually my dress down days, like the rest of the world I guess, and because I didn’t have to go to the university I opted for fitting pink trousers that I haven’t worn in forever, a black vest and a boyfriend blazer. It was a little chilly when I left the house so I added suede boots and a purple scarf. I carried a black handbag and put on a checked pink and white Alice-band. I went with my current obsession of a wrist-full of bracelets and statement earrings.

Blazer: part of a suit, gift from mum

Boots: Sarojini Market, India (similar in Ngara, Nairobi)

Handbag: gift

Earrings: trade with my friend

Scarf: borrowed from my sister

Bracelets: gift

When I went to study in India, I went through some life-altering experiences, I grew up and learned so much about myself. I made a whole set of new friends and I changed somewhat from the person I was in my earlier years. Then I came back home and started catching up with old friends and I’m terrified to say this but we’ve almost drifted apart. There are some friends that I will go out of my way to meet halfway and others who I just don’t think we have anything in common anymore. I find it so hard to talk to people and show them how different I am but Bridget encouraged me to continue being myself and to not be afraid to show it. Have you ever gone through such an experience? How do you deal with people who you haven't seen in a long time?

My Style: Mad About Denim

I feel like I have put up soo many denim-related outfits of late but that's because I live in jeans. I can't help it. Let's talk about these particular jeans. They are high-waisted and have a zip that runs half-way up the calf and the fact that they stretch a little really adds to their charm. I paired them with a blue multi-layered top which I found to be so cute and feminine and topped it all off with my striped blue blazer. I love the cropped style and fit of this blazer. It instantly smartens up any outfit that I pair it with. For shoes, I opted for my grey sneakers which I first appeared on the blog here . Pops of red, in the form of lipstick and a necklace, added some more colour and brightness to the outfit. HOW TO: Wear A Pencil Skirt | With a T-Shirt and Statement Necklace

Hello lovelies! My quest to learn how to style a pencil skirt continues. I was selling this skirt ( on Botique i2s ) some time ago but I didn't get someone to buy it. So I added it to my arsenal. I have worn it twice since. I previously paired it with a white button down shirt. For last Sunday's Church outfit, I wore it with a chocolate brown t-shirt and added a statement necklace to dress up the outfit a little. My tan brown wedges have finally made a reappearance on the blog. A lime green and brown turban completed the outfit.
