TUCKED IN DENIM TO CHURCH

Image
Hi all!!!  This is what I wore to Church last Sunday. I wanted a warm, comfortable look so I wore my dark blue skinny jeans, yellow checked shirt and black blazer.  I accessorized with my new embellished earrings, blue and black checked bangles, blue ring, and black handbag and boots.  I have been trying to have my nails done so over the weekend they were pink and blue. This week I've had them in nude and with a little bit of artwork. Happy Saturday xo Audrey You can also find me on: Facebook     Twitter     Pinterest     Bloglovin Shop My Closet

BRING OUT YOUR ANDROGYNOUS PREPPY SIDE

This is my first time wearing a tie when not in school uniform!!! I literally copied this look from Jenni of Comme Coco . I opened one of my many accounts and caught a glimpse of her post and I IMMEDIATELY started putting together a similar outfit in my head to be worn to work the next day.  Yeah I'm awesome like that!!! A tie borrowed from my brother, who I suspect thinks I'm mad, paired with my blue print shirt  and my fave wide-leg, high-waisted trousers.  Outfit Details: Trousers: Sarojini Market, India Shirt; gift Blazer: from my sister Heels: gift Bag: gift Tie: from my brother Loop Earrings: gift I had worn something similar to a job interview and of course my distracted self forgot to take pics. I switched the tie for a statement necklace though. Didn't want my prospective employer to look at me in bewilderment. I'm so glad the weekend is here!!! Happy Friday:) xo Audrey You can also find me on: Facebook   ...

DRESSED IN A MAXI AND SEQUINS

Image
**** This post was meant to be up last week but due to technical issues, I was unable to post it. Hi!!! It's so cold today and yet I thought we had started the month on a warmer note. Oh well, what to do??? I’ve read so many blog posts on how to wear sequins during the day. I’ve always wanted to try it out but when the sun is shining at its maximum, you don’t want to be responsible for blinding everyone on the streets. Then my sister (I have two by the way), bought this sequined scarf and I couldn’t wait to include it in my outfits. I wore this outfit to class, a brown maxi dress with lots of blue (turtle-neck, belt, sequined scarf). I added a black blazer for protection against the cold, stocking and flats. I carried a brown hand bag and wore brown earrings.  Outfit Details: Maxi Dress: Sarojini Market, India Turtleneck: Chandigarh, India Belt, scarf, handbag, earrings: gifts AWESOME READS THURSDAY  Next month I celebrate m...

DRESSED FOR SUNDAY

Image
I recently realized that since I came back from India, my wardrobe has been split into several pieces. I now have specific clothes that I go to university with, then others I wear any other time I have work to do, clothes for staying at home (mostly my jeans) and then clothes to wear on Sunday when I’m going to church. I know I’m not unique in this sense. It’s just that when you are so used to having a wide variety of clothes to choose from, when you become limited to certain clothes for certain occasions, you feel so distressed. I know I do. Then I get into a crisis. This was the case on this particular Sunday. I couldn’t decide what to wear so I picked this little black dress, blazer and colourful scarf. It was cold on Sunday morning so I added stockings and knee-high boots. This seems to have been a brass weekend; I wore my brass bracelets again and added earrings to match. Outfit Details: Dress: gift from my sisters Blazer: gift Scarf: Chandig...

DRESSED IN DUSTY PINK AND BOYFRIEND BLAZER

Image
Hi everyone. I do hope you had a fantastic weekend. As it's nearing the end of the month of July, where did the days fly off to, I'd like to give a shout out to all my new followers and to say a special word of thanks to all of you for your continued support. I love blogging and it's so encouraging knowing that there is someone out there who reads my posts. So thank you!!! Meeting old friends can be a daunting task. I recently experienced this when I had a lunch date and catching-up session with my very good friend Bridget. We hadn’t talked in about 10 months and we finally managed to match up our schedules. Friday’s are usually my dress down days, like the rest of the world I guess, and because I didn’t have to go to the university I opted for fitting pink trousers that I haven’t worn in forever, a black vest and a boyfriend blazer. It was a little chilly when I left the house so I added suede boots and a purple scarf. I carrie...

DRESSED IN LBD WITH PINK ACCESSORIES

Image
Pink and black combination has become a favourite of mine. I've realized I have a lot of pink in my wardrobe but I can't complain because it's one of those colours that brighten up your face and adds colour to your outfit without trying so hard. I wore this outfit for the FAB Expo 2012. I changed my outfit three times that day but each of the outfits had a purple/pink colour scheme. Do you remember this dress? I wore it here and here previously. And the blazer? I'd worn it for here for a job interview and here with jeans and a tee. To continue with the black colour scheme, I wore black boots, stockings and carried a black handbag. I chose pink earrings and a black necklace, black ring, pink, white and black bracelets and a pink flower pinned to the lapel of my blazer. Outfit Details: Little black dress: Sarojini Market, India Blazer: from my sister Boots: from my sister Stockings: Sarojini Market, India Earrings: CBD, Nairobi Neckl...
