DRESSED FOR A COLD, RAINY WORKING DAY

Image
Hi all!!! Yesterday was one of those that I would have rather stayed at home than leave the house. It started raining cats and dogs just when I got into the bus on my way to work, and when I got out it was still pouring. I even got splashed on by an inconsiderate driver!!!  But thank God I had dressed appropriately. I chose this black skirt and paired it with a orange cowl-neck sweater which has pockets infront, stockings and ankle boots (I think these are called heeled brogues, anybody??)  I'm suffering from a flu so I threw on this trench coat as I was leaving the house for added warmth. Thank God I did because I'd have been soaked otherwise. What do you wear when it's raining cats and dogs? Let me know in the comments, I'd love some ideas. Happy Wednesday!!  xo Audrey You can also find me on: Facebook     Twitter     Pinterest     Bloglovin Shop My Close...

DRESSED IN ALL BLACK, GOLD AND OXBLOOD

Image
Hi all!!! I hope you had a wonderful weekend. There are days when the abscence of colour is necessary. On Sunday, I opted to wear my black lace dress and black sling backs to church. The weather took an unexpected turn and it started drizzling just before I left the house so I grabbed my trench coat as an afterthought. I decided to add colour with my accessories. I wore my gold loop earrings, a gold ring I carried my oxblood handbag. I love this bag, even though I sort of took it from my mum and stubbornly refused to give it back. But I gave her one of mine in return so I guess we are even.  And some good news. I finally got a new phone!!! I'm so excited. I can't get enough of it. I wake up in the morning just to fiddle with it, discovering new features. Do you sometimes get like that when you get new things???  Have an awesome, stylish week. Happy Monday!!! xo Audrey You can also find me on: Facebook     Twitter   ...

HOW TO: Buy The Right Shoe

Image
Hi everyone!! Can you believe how fast the days are going? Two more days to the end of the month! Time is moving too fast! I must confess that I have been a culprit of wearing ill-fitting shoes and suffering horrendous consequences later on, corns, blisters, strained ankle muscles. You name it. At one time or the other I suffered from one of them. And after spending so much time walking the streets of Nairobi and either admiring people's shoes or staring in horror, I had to do a post on how to buy the right shoes. 1.TRY! TRY! TRY! It doesn't cost a penny to try on shoes. Put on a pair of socks or have them handy to protect your feet from other people's germs. This is the easiest thing to do to ensure that you buy the right fitting shoe. New shoes will pinch you because they have not yet adapted to the unique shape of your foot. And if it pinches too much, chances are you may never break into them and they will continue to pinch you no matter how long you wear t...
