OUTFIT: Spending time with family

 This was a different Sunday. I wore denim to Church!!! Any way, I tried to dress it up by wearing a nice top and heels. My friend Saanya gifted me this top for my birthday some two years ago. I absolutely love its colours. These purple denim trousers were seen, scrutinized (for optimal size) and bought without a second thought.





 To accessorize, I wore dangling earrings, a purple ring, pink heels and a brown clutch. The colours of the accessories were picked from the different colours of my top. The sunglasses were added as an after-thought but I was glad they blended so well with the rest of the outfit.

A labour of love: Long days, bee stings and a global premiere

“Amkeni” roughly translates to “Rise Up” in Kiswahili. This is the call of Chambuko Amkeni, a community-led conservation group involved in mangrove restoration and protection. In 2025, I had the honour of working with them to document their journey on women’s leadership in coastal and marine conservation, climate change adaptation and the blue economy, for a collaboration between Mission inclusion and the BBC StoryWorks'   for the   Living Legacy Series . This was my first time working on a project of this magnitude not to mention one that would have a global audience. To say this has been one of the highlights of the last two years is an understatement. Just thinking about it, my heart swells with pride. I feel like a mother watching her baby grow and come of age (please don't tell my daughter this!). Five Books I Want To Read in 2019

My love for reading books has always been bubbling beneath the surface and it has finally blown over. I've not always been a great reader. To make matters worse, motherhood has given me even less time for leisure activities like reading. However, I started pushing myself a bit and now I make time to read.  I find it a good use of time to read while in the matatu, when I take myself on a lunch date or when my eyes need a rest from constantly staring at a screen.  This year, I have decided to challenge myself a bit more by documenting the books I have read and loved as well as have a running list of books that I would love to read.
