Hi!!! How's your Monday coming along?? Here's a little something to brighten your day.
I wore this outfit last Saturday when I had
gone to my old school for a First Holy Communion ceremony. Mum had invited me
almost a month and a half in advance and I felt so honoured to be there with
her 9 year old students. It was like a walk down memory lane as I remembered,
although vaguely, my own First Communion. I met my teachers and it was really
interesting having to reintroduce myself to them because they couldn’t
recognize me. They all said how different I looked, I guess this was further defined by the fact that I
was not wearing my glasses.
I wore this LBD, a gift from my sisters and
paired it with white a sweater for warmth. This is the first time I’m dressing
up this dress. I used to wear it when I was in India when it became too hot. It
has pockets in the front and some embroidery detailing on the bodice which I
think makes it more interesting.
I wanted to carry this blue handheld bag,
last carried here, so I chose to wear blue accessories. I wore blue earrings
and a blue ring which was a gift from my boyfriend. I mixed bracelets just to
have an armful of them which has become sort of a thing with me. In my hurry to
leave the house I forgot to wear a necklace but I think the outfit looked ok. I
put a black belt to give some shape. I
wore black heels, worn here, and stockings. For my hair I wore a flower
headband, I have the same one in pink.
Now a point to note with stockings, nothing
makes me cringe in horror than to see someone in running stockings. It’s so
common in town that I think it should be made illegal!!! I read an article in
the Sunday Nation about how to choose and buy long lasting stockings and
selecting colours suitable for your skin tone. It also talked about how to
repair stockings. This is a must read for anyone who wishes to wear stockings!
