I’ve been reluctant to try out the denim on denim trend
because I was afraid of looking like someone out of the 90s. Do you remember
the days when we would dress like this?
But the denim on denim trend has been remixed and revamped
to look modern. Celebrities such as Kate Bosworth, Charlize Theron and Rihanna
have been seen to rock this trend. (Pics from Radar Online)
When I wanted to try out this trend, I thought of pairing
two different shades of blue denim together. I wore my dirty jeans with a denim
shirt.
To keep up with the blue colour scheme I was told to wear, I accessorized blue brogues last worn here and my favourite scarf which I used to add variation to my outfit. I added an armful of bangles and chandelier earrings (typically Indian) and carried my brown quilted bag.
I wore this outfit last Saturday when I attended my little
sister’s Sports Day held at her high school. I went to the same high school but
couldn’t help but marvel at how different things are since I was there. Sports
day was such an elaborated event with the students wearing hair and make-up in
support of their different houses (Blue, Green, Red and Yellow). My sister is
in Blue house and she ensured that anybody she invited came wearing blue in
support of her team. They won actually!!! Here are a few pics from my sister’s
outfit. She chose an Angry Birds theme with lots of pink accents.
It was a great experience. I spent the day with some friends
and had a wonderful time. I’m currently waiting for something that I think will
be wonderful if I’m patient enough. I’m working on keeping my hopes up and
being very very patient. Someone said to me that life is too good to rush into
anything. You should take your time and enjoy yourself every step of the way.
So here’s to hope and patience.
