  • I got my first job!!! I'm still in denial.
  • I finally finished my diploma in IT. I'm just hoping against all hope that it all goes well.
  • I became an auntie!! Oh I think I forgot to share this...My very good friend, who's more like a sister to me had a baby girl, whose photos I've been forbidden to put online. But baby Waridi, I love you, sweetness! Can't wait until you're old enough to get into mischief. Shhh! Don't tell your mum:)
  •  I reconnected with some old friends. I came to realize that I should treasure each and every person who has come into my life. There must be a reason why we met and I must make an effort to keep in touch with them.

I hope you had a great month.And if you didn't finish all that you had set out to do, don't give up. Just fill it in for the new month and get to it!

In fact, I wanted to be a model and when I realised that I wouldn’t make the cut because of my height, I decided that I would become a fashion designer. A labour of love: Long days, bee stings and a global premiere

“Amkeni” roughly translates to “Rise Up” in Kiswahili. This is the call of Chambuko Amkeni, a community-led conservation group involved in mangrove restoration and protection. In 2025, I had the honour of working with them to document their journey on women’s leadership in coastal and marine conservation, climate change adaptation and the blue economy, for a collaboration between Mission inclusion and the BBC StoryWorks'   for the   Living Legacy Series . This was my first time working on a project of this magnitude not to mention one that would have a global audience. To say this has been one of the highlights of the last two years is an understatement. Just thinking about it, my heart swells with pride. I feel like a mother watching her baby grow and come of age (please don't tell my daughter this!). Five Books I Want To Read in 2019

My love for reading books has always been bubbling beneath the surface and it has finally blown over. I've not always been a great reader. To make matters worse, motherhood has given me even less time for leisure activities like reading. However, I started pushing myself a bit and now I make time to read.  I find it a good use of time to read while in the matatu, when I take myself on a lunch date or when my eyes need a rest from constantly staring at a screen.  This year, I have decided to challenge myself a bit more by documenting the books I have read and loved as well as have a running list of books that I would love to read. Below are five books that I am keen to read this year. 1. Memoirs of a Geisha 2. Becoming by Michelle Obama 3. An Edited Life by Anna Newton 4. Reasons to stay alive by Matt Haig 5.
