The weekend is upon us. Infact, I started mine today. I had
the day off from work and thank goodness for that because ny leg started acing
up this morning and I couldn’t walk. I’ve been confined to the house the whole
day! In a way, I’m glad as I’ve been forced to lie down and relax today. I
needed that! I’ve been moving for the last three months without taking some
time out for myself. Maybe this was my body’s way of telling me that it was
time to rest.
So in anticipation for the weekend, I thought I’d put
together a few outfits to give you ideas on what you can wear this weekend no
matter what you’ll be doing.
RUNNING ERRANDS
To run errands, I prefer to be as comfortable as possible. For
me this means no heels or constricting dresses or skirts. I go for jeans, a
cute top, colourful scarf if the weather demands it. For shoes, I’d choose
canvas shoes or if it’s warm, a low wedge.
LUNCH WITH FRIENDS
For a day spent with the girls chatting, having lunch, and
doing very little moving around (or a lot if you don’t mind doing this in a
maxi) I’d chose a maxi dress, light sweater, ballet flats. I’d go a little
crazy with accessories and layer on several necklaces, wear earrings and a ring
and an armful of bangles.
FOR A DATE OR SPECIAL PARTY
I don’t like to over do it when I’m dressing. I like to keep
things simple. For something that requires me to dress up a bit more, I’d go
for a tunic, contrasting leggings (in an interesting colour like these cobalt
ones), boots or sandals and a blazer. The key here is to colour-block so you
can make your outfit stand out from the crowd.
This would be a good time to put on your heels/wedges. These
would look great with a cropped trouser or one you wouldn’t ordinarily wear to
work.
The trick for the weekend is to be yourself as much as
possible especially if your place of work has great restrictions on dress-code.
What do you prefer to wear over the weekend? Let me know in the comments. Have yourself a great weekend!!!
