WHAT I WORE: Sunday in Black and Blue

 Hi all. It's Wednesday and I can't wait for the week to end.
I wore this outfit on Sunday to Church. This is one of the dresses I bought when I went shopping with my mum and sister a month ago. It was actually meant to be mum's but it was too short on her so I ended up with it.
This is a silk dress with bell sleeves. At first I wasn't sure about whether I liked it or not but after a good night's rest and some style inspiration, I decided that I loved it. 
 For the second time in a month I wore all black to church, the first time being here. I added colour with my blue necklace, earrings and handbag. Because my weight keeps fluctuating, this dress didn't fit as well as I wanted it to. So I used my wide black belt to hold it in place.

A labour of love: Long days, bee stings and a global premiere

“Amkeni” roughly translates to “Rise Up” in Kiswahili. This is the call of Chambuko Amkeni, a community-led conservation group involved in mangrove restoration and protection. In 2025, I had the honour of working with them to document their journey on women’s leadership in coastal and marine conservation, climate change adaptation and the blue economy, for a collaboration between Mission inclusion and the BBC StoryWorks'   for the   Living Legacy Series . This was my first time working on a project of this magnitude not to mention one that would have a global audience. To say this has been one of the highlights of the last two years is an understatement. Just thinking about it, my heart swells with pride. Five Books I Want To Read in 2019

My love for reading books has always been bubbling beneath the surface and it has finally blown over. I've not always been a great reader. To make matters worse, motherhood has given me even less time for leisure activities like reading. However, I started pushing myself a bit and now I make time to read.  I find it a good use of time to read while in the matatu, when I take myself on a lunch date or when my eyes need a rest from constantly staring at a screen.  This year, I have decided to challenge myself a bit more by documenting the books I have read and loved as well as have a running list of books that I would love to read.
