MAY IN RETROSPECT

Hi all!! 
Happy end of the month!! I'm sort of glad May is over. I have so many new projects planned for June, I can't wait to share them with you all. But before we skip over to a new month, here are some of the highlight of this month here on Inches To Style.

What I Wore:

 This month I I tried out a lot of cobalt and maxis. A leather skirt, a maxi skirt and crop top, a cobalt dress for an interview, and a striped maxi dress were among my favourites of the month.

Monday Stylist:
 May was all about stripes and the black and white trend here on Inches to Style

 Celebrity Style
Solange Knowles was my favourite celebrity this month. I love her unique take on fashion.

  As if I didn't need any more motivation, my favourite celebrities at the amFAR 2013 were those dressed in white, black or a combination of both.

 And at the Met Gala, Sarah Jessica Parker, Beyonce and Anne Hathaway were my favourites.

 Mid-Week Reflections:

 This month, I reflected on change and how it's essential for you to move to the next phase of your life.

New Blog Series:
Place to Visit is a new series on the blog. I wanted to get out of my comfort zone and explore our beautiful country. The first post was on my trip to Karura Forest.

Another new series is Stepping Out. This month I featured my new hairstyles. I have experimented with box braids and a mohawk. I'm now looking for something new. Any suggestions?

My Style: Mad About Denim

 I feel like I have put up soo many denim-related outfits of late but that's because I live in jeans. I can't help it. Let's talk about these particular jeans. They are high-waisted and have a zip that runs half-way up the calf and the fact that they stretch a little really adds to their charm. I paired them with a blue multi-layered top which I found to be so cute and feminine and topped it all off with my striped blue blazer. I love the cropped style and fit of this blazer. It instantly smartens up any outfit that I pair it with. For shoes, I opted for my grey sneakers which I first appeared on the blog here . HOW TO: Wear A Pencil Skirt | With a T-Shirt and Statement Necklace

Hello lovelies! My quest to learn how to style a pencil skirt continues. I was selling this skirt ( on Botique i2s ) some time ago but I didn't get someone to buy it. So I added it to my arsenal. I have worn it twice since. I previously paired it with a white button down shirt. For last Sunday's Church outfit, I wore it with a chocolate brown t-shirt and added a statement necklace to dress up the outfit a little. My tan brown wedges have finally made a reappearance on the blog. A lime green and brown turban completed the outfit. Outfit Details: Skirt: Botique i2s T-Shirt: India Wedges: Bus Station Necklace: bought from a friend Head-wrap: India  I must say that I prefer this combination of colours more than with the white shirt.
