Hi all!!
I’ve been seeing stripes everywhere, have you? Some Kenyan
Fashion Bloggers and I recently started our own Whatsapp group and our first
style challenge is to rock some stripes and make a post on it. It was only
after this that I realized I have very few stripy things. I wanted more!!
Especially in the black and white formula, you know, knock two birds with the
same stone, the stripes and black and white trend.
So on this week’s Monday Stylist on i2s I will put together
some outfits featuring stripes using inspiration I’ve gotten from bloggers,
celebrities and people on the street. Let me know what you think in the comments
below. And, if you would like to learn how to style any item of clothing, of
the outerwear variety, hit me up on my Facebook page or email.
1.
Formally Striped
For a more business-like outfit, the kind you
can wear to work, I would go for a striped blouse or blazer paired with a pair
of black trousers for a more serious look. Alternatively, adding a pair of
striped heels or handbag to your ordinary work suit would be a unique take to
the trend.
2. Casually Striped
If you work in a more relaxed environment
or are a student, I’d say get more adventurous and buy yourself some striped
trousers of the straight-leg variety. These look so different from what people
would otherwise wear i.e. pinstriped trousers. Pair them with a loose fitting
top perhaps sheer and add a floral or leather jacket to keep you warm if the
temperatures drop.
Alternatively, you could wear a striped maxi
dress or pencil skirt to make you stand out from the crowd, after all, by
writing these posts, I aim to encourage you to dare to be different, dare to be
you.
How would you wear your stripes? Let me know in the comments.
