WHAT I WORE: ELECTRIC BLUE LEATHER

 Hi all!! 
This post should have gone up a while back, but my disorganization will be the death of me. 
I have had a deep seated love for leather for ages. But I am unable to buy anything that is imitation leather. So getting a leather jacket, pants, skirt or dress has been a very slow process.
 And lo and behold, one Friday I accompanied mum to the market and there was a lady selling everything leather for KSh. 50 only. I was low on cash at that time but I couldn't resist. I found this skirt and a purple one and I begged mum to buy them.
Voila! My electric blue, pencil leather skirt. I wore it with a white loose-fitting blouse and tan wedges (although I later changed into flats) to Church one Sunday.

 Outfit Details:

Blouse: Bus Station, Nairobi
Shoes: Ngara, Nairobi
Handbag: Gift



I'm still unsure of the length of this skirt. I think I'll cut it and change it from mid-length to knee length.

A labour of love: Long days, bee stings and a global premiere

“Amkeni” roughly translates to “Rise Up” in Kiswahili. This is the call of Chambuko Amkeni, a community-led conservation group involved in mangrove restoration and protection. In 2025, I had the honour of working with them to document their journey on women’s leadership in coastal and marine conservation, climate change adaptation and the blue economy, for a collaboration between Mission inclusion and the BBC StoryWorks'   for the   Living Legacy Series . This was my first time working on a project of this magnitude not to mention one that would have a global audience. To say this has been one of the highlights of the last two years is an understatement. Just thinking about it, my heart swells with pride. Five Books I Want To Read in 2019

My love for reading books has always been bubbling beneath the surface and it has finally blown over. I've not always been a great reader. To make matters worse, motherhood has given me even less time for leisure activities like reading. However, I started pushing myself a bit and now I make time to read.  I find it a good use of time to read while in the matatu, when I take myself on a lunch date or when my eyes need a rest from constantly staring at a screen.  This year, I have decided to challenge myself a bit more by documenting the books I have read and loved as well as have a running list of books that I would love to read.
