| Lupita Nyong'o after winning her Oscar |
Hello lovelies!
This morning I woke up to the amazing news that one Lupita Nyong'o had won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in her role in 12 Years a Slave. As a Kenyan and a woman, I am so happy, proud and challenged all at the same time. Happy and proud because she has achieved so much from being a style icon to getting recognized for her hard work. Challenged because I feel that if she can work so hard as well as overcome all odds to see her dreams accomplished why should I sit back and feel sorry for myself when things get so tough.
I would like to challenge you to work towards making your dreams into a reality. Do not get discouraged when you face an obstacle because these will always be there. Ideal conditions are a rare occasion so don't waste your time waiting for that perfect set of ideals so that you can start working on seeing your dreams turn into a reality. Be it having the right amount of savings in your bank account or having enough time, keep in mind that at that one time when all these things will be present, there will still be something else that keeps you from embarking on working on your dreams.
From last night's Oscars, these are my favorite celebrity outfits.
