i2s FAVOURITES: MET Gala 2014

The Met Gala or Met Ball held last weekend saw the conglomeration of A-list celebrities to the invitation-only event, dressed in their finest.

The Met Gala is held every year to raise funds for the Costume Institute’s Metropolitan Museum of Art. It also celebrates the work of a specific fashion designer. Each year’s event has a theme and this year the theme, set by its chair Anna Wintour, it required the men to stick to a certain dress code. 
Think Titanic and the formal dress the first-class passengers wore to dinner. The likes of Jay-Z and Kanye West were spotted in formal dress which included a black tailcoat, waistcoat, wing-collared shirt, white bow-tie and patent leather shoes. The women on the other hand kept up with tradition and appeared in breathtaking gowns in commemoration of designer James Baldwin.

 I feel like I have put up soo many denim-related outfits of late but that's because I live in jeans. I can't help it. Let's talk about these particular jeans. They are high-waisted and have a zip that runs half-way up the calf and the fact that they stretch a little really adds to their charm. I paired them with a blue multi-layered top which I found to be so cute and feminine and topped it all off with my striped blue blazer. I love the cropped style and fit of this blazer. HOW TO: Wear A Pencil Skirt | With a T-Shirt and Statement Necklace

Hello lovelies! My quest to learn how to style a pencil skirt continues. I was selling this skirt ( on Botique i2s ) some time ago but I didn't get someone to buy it. So I added it to my arsenal. I have worn it twice since. I previously paired it with a white button down shirt. For last Sunday's Church outfit, I wore it with a chocolate brown t-shirt and added a statement necklace to dress up the outfit a little. My tan brown wedges have finally made a reappearance on the blog. A lime green and brown turban completed the outfit. Outfit Details: Skirt: Botique i2s T-Shirt: India Wedges: Bus Station Necklace: bought from a friend Head-wrap: India  I must say that I prefer this combination of colours more than with the white shirt.
