Sometimes I look at what a certain celebrity wore and wish for a huge huge wardrobe budget that will allow me to shop at high end designer stores and get exactly what they are wearing. But then, I read this article about the above outfit Kim Kardashian wore and couldn't believe my eyes! She does the same tricks that I do when it comes to putting her outfits together: a dress worn as a skirt, a chopped top to make a crop top, a dress worn as a coat and shoes bought online (on eBay!). Who would think that even with all her money and knowing her husband, Mrs West gets innovative with her clothes!


There's something about a well-tailored suit worn sans a shirt like Gwyneth Paltrow wore at the amfAR gala that screams to me.


When you need to glam up a simple black dress, how about you add some colour and an interesting peplum combo like Olivia Wilde? This outfit screams for a DIY project!


I love simplicity and for me Hannah Simone's outfit is so simple, chic and classic. One of those that you can wear to work and for a night out without the headache of having a change of clothes.

A labour of love: Long days, bee stings and a global premiere

“Amkeni” roughly translates to “Rise Up” in Kiswahili. This is the call of Chambuko Amkeni, a community-led conservation group involved in mangrove restoration and protection. In 2025, I had the honour of working with them to document their journey on women’s leadership in coastal and marine conservation, climate change adaptation and the blue economy, for a collaboration between Mission inclusion and the BBC StoryWorks'   for the   Living Legacy Series . This was my first time working on a project of this magnitude not to mention one that would have a global audience. To say this has been one of the highlights of the last two years is an understatement. Just thinking about it, my heart swells with pride. Five Books I Want To Read in 2019

My love for reading books has always been bubbling beneath the surface and it has finally blown over. I've not always been a great reader. To make matters worse, motherhood has given me even less time for leisure activities like reading. However, I started pushing myself a bit and now I make time to read.  I find it a good use of time to read while in the matatu, when I take myself on a lunch date or when my eyes need a rest from constantly staring at a screen.  This year, I have decided to challenge myself a bit more by documenting the books I have read and loved as well as have a running list of books that I would love to read.
