Blush Pink Denim, Striped T Shirt & Sequin Blazer

This is one outfit that I have been dying to try and document for ages! The combination of denim and a striped t-shirt is very French fashionista-esque and it screams comfort especially since I am more a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl.
I dressed up this otherwise casual outfit with this customized sequin blazer. This blazer was one of my 2014 sewing projects as I embraced the art of upcycling. It was a plain black three-quarter sleeve blazer which I customized by adding a sequin back.
Ankle boots are a huge favourite now especially since it took me a while to learn how to style them. A few beaded necklaces and a purple lippie completed my look.

A labour of love: Long days, bee stings and a global premiere

“Amkeni” roughly translates to “Rise Up” in Kiswahili. This is the call of Chambuko Amkeni, a community-led conservation group involved in mangrove restoration and protection. In 2025, I had the honour of working with them to document their journey on women’s leadership in coastal and marine conservation, climate change adaptation and the blue economy, for a collaboration between Mission inclusion and the BBC StoryWorks'   for the   Living Legacy Series . This was my first time working on a project of this magnitude not to mention one that would have a global audience. To say this has been one of the highlights of the last two years is an understatement. Just thinking about it, my heart swells with pride. Five Books I Want To Read in 2019

My love for reading books has always been bubbling beneath the surface and it has finally blown over. I've not always been a great reader. To make matters worse, motherhood has given me even less time for leisure activities like reading. However, I started pushing myself a bit and now I make time to read.  I find it a good use of time to read while in the matatu, when I take myself on a lunch date or when my eyes need a rest from constantly staring at a screen.  This year, I have decided to challenge myself a bit more by documenting the books I have read and loved as well as have a running list of books that I would love to read.
