I have been working from home for almost three years now and I must say, creating a home office has become a necessity. I am in need of a place, not too big, where I can have all my work tools within reach. I also think a home office would help me focus more on work, you know, put me in the zone.
As a freelancer, it's very easy to spend the whole day in bed, in my pyjamas, typing away, answering phone calls and from time to time, playing with baby girl. In my opinion, a home office will not only help me get more organized in terms of where I put my stuff, it will also help increase productivity.
As such, I have been scouring Pinterest for ideas on how to style a desk in a home office. I am impartial to lighter set-ups, you know all-whites, or lighter colours. They feel so clean and organized. But I am also in love with darker pieces like a dark wall with a lighter table or darker table set up in a lighter room. I like a clear desk with space for my laptop, notebook and pen with everything else organized around it. The chair has to be comfortable enough for me to sit on for hours on end. I am still undecided on whether I will need a desk lamp but that will be determined once I start setting up my home office.
